Love is the engine.
_______
Everything started with some mysterious miniature worlds I was building in cardboard boxes with a little hole to look through. When one pulled some threads it started either to snow, creatures flew in or light beams made the materials sparkle. That started when I was about 9.
When 15/16, I urgently wished for a filmcamera. Although my wish didn´t come true I still wanted to do something with film, stage design or production design.
After a year of studying architecture and an internship in stage design I studied communications design where I started to create worlds again - this time with the moving image. My degree in film kickstarted my freelance life. Thanks to Vimeo and some bloggers, I received a lot of emails from around the world, some of them turned into serious jobs.
Today I love the variety of being able to work in different media, with different techniques and for different clients. I love working tactile as well as with CG, I do animation and still graphics. My clients vary from the advertising industry to the cultural field.
Whatever I do I like to keep it fresh. When a project doesn´t seem exciting at the first sight I find a way so it does excite me. The feeling of surprising others (and myself) really drives me. In my work I always try to create an emotional impact. To combine the emotional with something which is simply graphically pleasing seems to be something I constantly pursue.
