The girl effect
It’s definitely the right time of the season for good wishes, etc. A number of years back, after being asked the question over and over in interviews: “Why are women under represented in the industry?”
The short answer boils down to “until men can have babies or caring for them does become a societal responsibility – the situation won’t change.”
I wanted to do something positive about this and decided to start the Powagirrrls directory to honor women who rock the design scene with more than pink design.
Long introduction to a project, The Girl Effect, that the good folks at Grow Interactive have produced which struck a deep chord this morning.
Please take time to view it, ponder and do something about this if you can. Never underestimate the power of one.
